Cliveden has long been associated with entertaining and many guests choose us for celebrations and special occasions. Accordingly, the dress code is smart casual and sportswear is not appropriate.

Smoking
Cliveden House is a non-smoking hotel. Should you choose to smoke in your bed room, we reserve the right to charge a cleaning surcharge upon or after your departure, which will be an additional nights room rate and further charges relating to the deep cleaning of the room may also be incurred.

Mobile Phones
We kindly request that you refrain from using mobile phones in the Great Hall, all public and private dining rooms and The Cliveden Spa.

Cliveden accepts no liability for any damage to or any loss of guests' personal property.

Driving on the Estate
The Estate is a wildlife haven and The Grand Avenue arrival at Cliveden is a pedestrian area, open to House guests and National Trust visitors alike. Guests are politely reminded to take care when driving within the grounds and we respectfully ask that you observe the 5mph speed limit at all times when approaching the House.

Dogs
We are delighted to welcome dogs (aged 1 year and older) to Cliveden.

From the moment your pampered pooch is welcomed into the Great Hall, we ensure they have a stay to remember. A supplementary charge of £35 per dog in room per night applies. Dogs are welcome in the bedrooms and public areas, but not The Cliveden Dining Room or The Cliveden Spa. Dogs are the full responsibility of their owners and should be well behaved.

We kindly ask that your four legged friends are well behaved and that you take full responsibility for their behaviour throughout the stay.

OUR RESPONSE TO THE VAT REDUCTION

When the UK Government communicated a VAT cut for hospitality in mid-July, The Chancellor was adamant that this initiative was being introduced to protect hospitality businesses not to stimulate consumer demand. Unsure of what our position should be, we consulted at length with fellow hoteliers and with the wider industry and collectively decided that with the prospect of losses still to cover, reduced capacities, weak demand from certain markets and abnormally high operating expenses for the foreseeable future, we would not be passing the VAT reduction onto our guests. Ultimately the rates we communicate are inclusive of VAT and therefore the rates charged and paid remain unchanged.
